Gokyo Lakes Trek

$1,600.00

The Gokyo Lakes trek is the most stunning alternative to the traditional Everest Base Camp route, trading the crowded main trail for a series of high-altitude, turquoise glacial lakes. It follows the Dudh Koshi river valley before veering into the tranquil Gokyo Valley, where six spectacular lakes sit nestled beneath the shadows of 8,000-meter giants.

The highlight of the journey is the ascent of Gokyo Ri (5,357m). From this rocky peak, you are treated to what many consider the best view in the Himalayas: a massive panoramic sweep of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu, all while looking down at the massive Ngozumpa Glacier—the longest in Nepal.

The trek is characterized by its peaceful atmosphere and the striking contrast between the deep blue water and the surrounding ice-white peaks. It offers a perfect blend of Sherpa culture and pristine wilderness, making it an ideal choice for trekkers who want the grandeur of the Everest region with a bit more serenity and a lot more color.
