The Ultimate Himalayan Introduction

The Poon Hill trek is a perfect summary of the Himalayan experience—an iconic journey that captures the soul of the Annapurna region in just a few unforgettable days. It offers a front-row seat to the world’s highest peaks, surrounded by ancient forests and local villages.

The route winds through a landscape of stunning contrasts. You’ll climb the historic stone stairways of Ulleri, wander through moss-draped rhododendron forests, and pass through terraced farmlands where life follows the rhythm of the seasons. As you ascend, the jagged spire of Machapuchare and the massive white walls of the Annapurna range begin to dominate the horizon.

The defining moment is the pre-dawn hike to the summit of Poon Hill (3,210m). As the first rays of light hit the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna massifs, the mountains transform from blue shadows into glowing pillars of gold. Standing at this 360-degree vantage point is a moment of pure clarity and awe.

Achievable for anyone with a moderate level of fitness, the Poon Hill trek is the ideal choice for those who want the massive scale of Nepal without the demands of high-altitude passes. It is a journey of spectacular sunrises and deep cultural connection—a true Himalayan classic.
